New Design, Options, etc.

iMesh Chat.Net News Okay, I think it's time to post something about the new version of the site and its design.
Most of you - except those who are blind - have noticed the new design, also certain changes:

Most links and modules use a link optimisation engine now, e.g. there is no complicated link like http://www.imeshchat.net/index.php?name=Groups for Groups, but a simplified link like
http://www.iMeshChat.net/Groups.html.

Registering a new account

iMesh Chat.Net News I have seen quite many people having problems registrating a new account on here, hence I am going to explain it a little (even though all necessary information is given during the registration process Tongue )

1. You enter some first details on your account, like user name, password, email and so on...
NOTE: Your password is saved encrypted to the database, so I can't read it; seems as if some people fear I could sneak into their personal stuff.

2. Hit the submit button.

3. You see a screen which tells you that you are registered. You actually are registered, but you can't log in until your account was APPROVED...that's the part where your email becomes essential...an approval email is sent to you with a link in the body part. You click on that link and your account should be approved. NOW, and ONLY now, you can log in and your name is displayed as latest member. I approved some people who obviously had problems (lurking in the password retrieval aread) manually. Smile

Site Content

iMesh Chat.Net News Submitting Content...How?

As you might have noticed, there is a SUBMIT NEWS button in the navigation bar at the top. To submit news means, you write an article, e.g. news, game/book/movie re-/previews, etc., this article is sent to the site authors (at the moment only me) and then posted in the home area of the site.
The same works for providing links or downloads, for reporting broken links or downloads and modifying downloads/ links.
So you see, the homepage lives from your submissions aswell as on my time adding stuff Smile
By the way, this text was submitted as NEWS, i.e. this is kinda how your submitted stories/ text would look like, depending on your creativity of course)

Frequently Asked Questions

Soon I am going to activate a FAQ module which is supposed to provide short info on either this site or the iMesh chat, or whatever you suggest to be found there, e.g. a short tutorial on how to use this weird photo gallery Very Happy

Encyclopedia

Another interesting, soon coming, module is the Encyclopedia. I intend to create a small lexicon on internet acronyms. People helping with the content are most welcome Very Happy

iMesh Chat.Net News iMesh Chat.Net Goes Online

Okay, after quickly having found a way to transfer the database, I can make this site become public (or kinda public). Very Happy

Let the group grow, advertise it, make suggestions and most important, test it Wink
