I live in Arizona, and if you haven't heard our state is being boycotted all over the country. The reason we are being boycotted is because our governor put forth an immigration law that gives our law enforcement more protection when enforcing the federal law. I struggled with this for a while, because I understand that people are coming here to try to make a better life. The reality is though, that my state leads the country in auto theft and kidnappings. Our education is in shambles, because illegals who come here feel it is an insult to speak anything but Spanish, so their kids go to school needing special education, which takes resources away from the rest of the students. Illegals also steal peoples identities, and get free medical and food stamps without having to pay taxes, at a greater cost to the ones who do. Then you have a dangerous drug war, which has lead to several murders near the border. You also have smugglers murdering people here, and all the deaths they cause from people too weak to make it through to desert to here. Our state is quickly becoming as dangerous as their home land of Mexico.
Just a 40 minute drive from the capitol here, you can see signs that the federal government put up that tell us how if we enter that area of our own state we take a risk of death. The fact is the federal government has always turned a blind eye to this problem. Its not because the Mexicans will do jobs that Americans wont, it's simply because big business wants to fatten its pockets by hiring cheap disposable labor, that they can underpay, not give benefits to, and when they are done with them all the sudden they get a "government immigration sweep" and those workers get deported.
I have no problems with somebody that wants to come here, work hard and wants to obey the law, heck that is what built the United States. (and there are legal ways to do this, that thousands do every year) You must also want to learn the the language. The Dutch, the Germans, the French and others did it and have assimilated well, while still maintaining their cultures. Until the time comes, I support the law, even if I don't support the people who made it and their other politics. I think if somebody truly wants to work hard and make a better life, then either a.) apply and do it the legal way or b.)work hard to fix the country you live in, so that you don't gave to rely on going somewhere else for a better life.

It sucks that I'm on the same side as Fox news on this, but I am not racist like them. I don't support the law because I want to keep brown people out, I support the law because I want to live in a safe community.

at least in the U.K you have a little more open mindedness the the United States. The tea party only came about because a black president was elected. Who knows what would happen if we ever elected a woman..or even a *gasp non christian leader
