...a sure way to do that, is to write a poem!

Love or Desire?
Why is love not synonymous with desire?
How can one love you but not want you?
I can't see how passion can be felt
so differently by two people in love.
What is a raging inferno for one
equals to mere match light for the other.

How does one live only feeling the match light?
All the while yearning for the blazing heat?
We marry for true love and companionship,
intrigued by the promise of perpetual desire.
But as all pretenses are soon to fall away,
we find how mismatched our passions can be.

What does one to do with the constant yearning?
How does this one get what their soul needs?
just go on, existingâ€¦.
Impulses & intensity rarely reciprocated.
Simple words are impossibly deficient in defining
the pain of rejection or solving the problem.

What of other souls who burn as deeply as you?
When two yearning souls touch and find bliss?
Passion flares, romance and understanding flow,
transferred in each touch like electricity.
Inhibitions and past rejections are burnt away,
and euphoria blinds senses of right and wrong.

Why is desire not synonymous with love?
How can one want you but not love you?
Even while in the throws of passion
one can assume an implied commitment.
But when it comes to rearranging one's life
to make desire legitimate, it's fascade fades.

This leads me to believe of love or desire-
the only real state of feeling is YEARNING.
And I donâ€™t think it ever ends.
